Dale Carnegie Malaysia Takes Global Day of Giving 2026 to SMK Taman Semarak
Every October, Dale Carnegie’s network across 80+ countries marks Founder’s Day with Global Day of Giving, our annual CSR initiative. It began in 2016 and is now in its 11th year, bringing our training to young people and the people who support them.
This year’s Founder’s Day is a big one. It marks the 114th anniversary of Dale Carnegie Training and the 90th year of How to Win Friends and Influence People, and we are celebrating more than 9 million graduates worldwide. Global Day of Giving is how we mark it: by putting the same principles to work for others.
Dale Carnegie Malaysia partnered with Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Taman Semarak and held its session on Saturday, 12 September 2026, ahead of Founder’s Day on 22 October. Our trainer and volunteers ran a human relations workshop for students from Form 1 to Form 5, drawing on the principles we teach in the Dale Carnegie Course for becoming a friendlier person. The session introduced nine principles built on one idea: relationships get better when you focus on the other person’s needs and interests. Students practised them through group activities, then looked for ways to use them at school and at home.
For our volunteers, the moments that stayed with them came from watching students find their footing with each other. “Effective communication is not always about speaking perfect English,” said Sarah, one of our volunteers. “Sometimes, it is about creating a safe environment where people feel comfortable enough to express themselves.”
Malaysia has taken part in Global Day of Giving in recent years too, including sessions with UNITAR Sabah and Universiti Malaysia Sabah in 2024, and with University College of Yayasan Pahang in 2025.
We thank the teachers and students of SMK Taman Semarak for welcoming us.
