Twice Through, Still Learning

Dear Dale Carnegie Malaysia,

The first time I walked into a Dale Carnegie classroom was in 2022, when I was working at Universiti Putra Malaysia. That experience stayed with me long enough to bring me back, though this time, the circumstances were beautifully different.

The second time around, I'm on the other side. I joined Dale Carnegie Malaysia as an employee, and one of the first things that welcomed me as a new hire was being enrolled in the very program I had taken years before. The flagship course is something they believe in enough to make it part of their onboarding training. That says a lot.

There's something quietly profound about going through the same program twice, but from a completely different place in life. This time, sitting in that room felt like the organisation saying, we want you to truly understand what we stand for, from the inside out.

And what I found most inspiring was the people around me. Week after week, I watched my classmates transform. The quiet ones found their voices. The hesitant ones stood a little taller. People came in carrying their nerves and left carrying something that looked a lot like confidence. Hearing how they took what they learned and brought it into their real lives, into difficult conversations at work, into moments at home that might have gone a different way without the tools they had picked up in class. It's one thing to learn in a classroom. It's another to actually live it.

Eight weeks went by very quickly. To my classmates, thank you for showing up fully, every week. Watching you grow has been one of the most quietly inspiring things I've experienced in a long time.

A special thank you to Dr. Seetha, Amuutha, and Dr. Khor. Your guidance, warmth, and dedication made every session something to look forward to. Thank you for showing up for us, week after week.

And to Dale Carnegie Malaysia, thank you for walking the talk. For believing so deeply in what you teach that you make it the very first thing you give your people.
